APTECH SCOPE OF SERVICES
APTECH provides asset and life management support to infrastructure, facility, and equipment through conception, design, construction, commissioning, operations, and decommissioning phases of a project or facility.
The APTECH Petrochemical Group offers the following key services:
- Risk Analysis and Risk Based Inspection
- Inspection (Advanced Technologies)
- Maintenance (Reliability, Predictive, and Preventative Strategies)
- Operational and Process Support (Critical Operating and Process Windows)
- Process Safety and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
- Design Support
- Mechanical Integrity Services
- Pipeline Integrity Management
- Information Technology/Software Tools
- Management Strategies
- Health Safety Environment (HSE) Strategies
- Business and Financial Modelling
- Training, Reviews and Audits
In addition to this, APTECH provides design and operational support services in the pipeline, gas, and petrochemical industries. These services include:
- Plant and Facility Design: Complete projects from conceptual design through startup. A combination of strong technical knowledge and plant and field experience provides cost-effective designs for cryogenic and refrigeration/NGL extraction, NGL fractionation, H2S and CO2 removal, LPG storage and product handling, sulfur recovery, nitrogen rejection and numerous other processes.
- Process and Production Engineering: A wide range of engineering services, such as debottlenecking studies, process optimizations, design and drafting, and facilities upgrades. Specialists available in areas such as custody transfer of gas and liquids, pressure vessel code, pipelines, piping thermal stress analysis, process simulations, process design, and equipment sizing and selection.
- Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) Studies: Development of Class III project cost estimates to support funding. Team compiled of appropriate disciplines to develop project schedule, obtain vendor quotes on major equipment, identify long-lead time material and equipment for early procurement, and generate preliminary drawings, including P&IDs, lists, tables, and other documentation.
- Pressure Relief System Design: Systematic and logical approach to ensure design of a safe and reliable relief system. Determine facility maximum relief loads for purposes of defining flare header and flare tip design basis. Sizing of all required facility pressure safety valves (PSVs), development of all global relief scenarios, and documentation of flare system design basis to ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) OSHA 1910.119 and other regulatory requirements
ASSET INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT
The goal of asset management is to effectively manage corporate assets in order to gain maximum value/profitability/returns while safeguarding personnel, the community and environment. A true Asset Integrity Management program incorporates design, maintenance, inspection, process, operations, and management concepts, since all these disciplines impact the integrity of infrastructure and equipment.
In the future, best practice facilities will have comprehensive, fully integrated systems and culture directed at gaining greater lifetime effectiveness, value, safety, availability, profitability and return from production and manufacturing assets.
APTECH provides asset and life management support to infrastructure, facility, and equipment through conception, design, construction, commissioning, operations and decommissioning phases of a facility. All of these concepts and tools should be considered in the development of a “world’s best practice" integrity management program for the facility.
DESIGN PHASE ASSESSMENTS
As can be seen from the diagram below, maximum benefit to safety and operations is derived during the design phase of a project.
Because of this, it is useful to conduct integrity studies before a facility is constructed. For each unit on a facility, an integrity assessment can be divided into six sections:
- Design Review
- Corrosion Description
- Materials Review and Positive Materials Identification (PMI)
