Capabilities
The phrase "fitness for service" was recently coined in American Petroleum Institute's (API), API-579. API uses the term to characterize a standardized problem solving process. Their publication defines the best practices in the refinery and chemical industry for the assessment of damage in piping and pressure vessels. Whereas APTECH has always used best practices to solve problems, the concept of "fitness for service" is not new. API-579 Fitness-for-Service is yet another tool for APTECH. APTECH provides a engineering technical support in the following areas:
- Failure Analysis (corrosion and metallurgy)
- Inspection and Nondestructive Examination (NDE)
- Stress Analysis
- Corrosion Studies
- Material Selection
- Metallurgical Evaluations
- Welding Fabrication Quality Assurance (QA)
- Engineering Support for API-510, API-653, and API-570 Inspections
The following is APTECH's specialty:
TubeAlert is an APTECH pioneered technique, used to perform nondestructive examination to help judge the remaining useful life for superheater tubes.
