Mr. Anderson holds a M.S. in Materials Science, with over 20 years of industry experience and is currently CEO APTECH Engineering, responsible for operations, management, strategic planning and the future growth plans and vision for APTECH Engineering. For the past five years, Mr. Anderson has been VP & Director of APTECH’s Petrochemical office in Houston and has led the group through a major growth period. This was achieved by the development and implementation of strategic goals and strategies for the group, expanding its scope of services, improving client service and implementing an aggressive hiring campaign. This has resulted in staff growth from 5 to 35 employees and a revenue increase of over 400%. Through the careful implementation of a detailed business plan the office now provides specialists and engineering support in all areas of Asset Integrity Management and has completed projects and Master Service Agreements for many Fortune 500 companies. In addition Mr. Anderson has been responsible for the opening of an engineering office in Canada. This office has grown by 200% over the past two years and has secured contracts with major producers such as SUNCOR, Nova, Nexen and Opti.
Mr. Anderson’s technical capabilities include asset management, mechanical integrity, and risk assessments of refinery, offshore and chemical plant equipment and the development of innovative inspection and maintenance programs for a variety of facilities. Mr. Anderson is an accomplished manager who has been at the forefront of the development and implementation of asset integrity and risk based inspection programs, has published many papers on the subject and has been an invited speaker at numerous international conferences. His experience includes audits, condition and corrosion assessment, fitness-for-service and remaining useful life evaluation of petrochemical equipment. Additional experience includes litigation support, software development, corrosion control, metallurgical failure analysis, materials selection, materials testing and the monitoring and analysis of vessel, topsides equipment and piping circuit corrosion data.
Mr. Shelby has over twenty years in
oil and gas production experience with major operating
companies. He also has over six years experience in
process design and project management for oil and gas
production and processing facilities in both onshore
and offshore. Expertise lies in the areas of production
facilities, gas treating, gas processing, equipment
design, and project management. Experience in gas plant
areas included project management and design review for
grass roots cryogenic expander gas plant, and revising
existing absorption type gas plants, including amine
treating, dehydration and fractionation.
Mr. Sutherland has over 15 years experience in the field of metallurgical engineering, beginning with a military background in bridging and explosive works and extending to leadership of major incident fire damage assessment teams and management of design verification projects for several of the foremost refinery operators.
In his present position as Director of Engineering, Special Projects, and Business Development for the APTECH Houston office, Mr. Sutherland has oversight for all engineering projects and for leading the Houston office sales and marketing efforts. As an accomplished supervisor, Mr. Sutherland, leads diverse technical groups to meet and exceed goals and deliverables on major projects relating to elements for Asset Integrity Management, including Risk Based Inspection, Mechanical Integrity, Fire Damage Assessment, Training, and Fitness for Service of refineries and chemical plants.
Mr. Sutherland is designated as a Professional Engineer within the Canadian Provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario and has authored numerous reports, given lectures, and is active within the professional community for ongoing professional development. Additional experience includes Litigation Support, Software Review & Development, Material Selection & Testing, Metallurgical Failure Analysis, and Root Cause Investigation (Origin & Cause).
Mr. Hall has a 35 year career working
with the oil refining and offshore, power, and chemical
industries, dealing with a wide range of asset
management and availability improvement issue. His
career has included participation in large scale
efforts to integrate plant condition monitoring,
anomaly detection, maintenance management, and plant
forecasting programs into web-based asset management
decision support systems; development of numerous plant
reliability, availability, maintainability (RAM) and
life cycle cost models using both simulation and
expected value based applications; development of
reliability centered and risked-based maintenance
programs; and management of the development,
maintenance, and application of computer applications
designed to address plant RAM and cost issues.
Mr. Barrera has extensive expertise
working as a Process Safety Management (PSM) Mechanical
Integrity Consultant. His experience includes
upgrading, developing, and implementing of PSM programs
and technical writing procedures. His expertise
includes the implementation of testing processes,
documentation requirements, and follow-up of PSM
Audits/Assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA 29CFR
1910.119. This involves critical shutdowns, safety
relief valves, fire protection systems, and the basic
PSM Program.
Mr. Barrera is skilled in coordinating mechanical
integrity inspections, which include the logistics,
testing, and documentation of vessels, piping, and
tanks. He has also performed risk based inspection
analysis, equipment reliability assessments, and
incident investigations. In addition he has directed
the maintenance and inspection activities of
contractors. His background also includes extensive
expertise in all facets of corrosion mitigation. Mr.
Barrera is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
Mr. Guzman holds a B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Texas.
Mr. Guzman is a certified Level II Inspector in PT, MT, UT, and VT. He has experience with refinery equipment
as well as refinery software such as SAP and AspenTech. He has also developed first-rate skills relating
to surveying rotating equipment and updating SAP. Mr. Guzman also has a good working knowledge of different
types of software programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, AutoCAD, ProE.)
Mr. Towers has over 30 years of
diverse experience in the development, construction,
operation, and maintenance of crude oil, gas, chemical
and products pipeline transportation systems onshore
and offshore in the USA (specializing in cold regions),
Canada, Azerbaijan, Russia and Kazakstan. His
experience includes pipeline design, construction,
start up, operation and maintenance, control systems,
communications, safety and emergency response,
environmental compliance, procurement and cost
estimating. Mr. Towers also has experience with salt
dome storage facilities. Mr. Towers has attended the
Texas A&M Oil Spill Prevention and Control Training
in Galveston, Texas and Environmental Protection
Regulatory Compliance Training at Rice University in
Houston, Texas. He has been responsible for conducting
oil spill drills on the Trans Alaska Pipeline and on
the CPC Pipeline at the Volga River crossing in Russia.
He has also been trained and Licensed by
Gosgortechnazor of Russia in compliance with Russian
Safety Laws. Mr. Towers has been a consultant on major
gas pipeline projects in the arctic regions of the
United States, Canada and Russia. He is familiar with
pipeline regulations in these countries.
Mr. Hung Tran is currently Process
Specialist and has assisted in development and
implementation of APTECH’s RDMIP software and
procedures, inspection review and risk analysis.
Experience in process condition, consequence modeling,
and risk associated with a wide range of equipment in
the Petroleum and Petrochemical Industry.
Murali Krishnia Akku. Proficiency in
the use and application of software programs HYSYS,
HEXTRAN, PROII, HTFS and MathCAD. In-depth
understanding and knowledge of gas pipeline design,
including compressors. Knowledge and understanding of
P&IDs, PFD, Energy and Material balance
calculations. Design and simulation of various units of
Distillation columns using HYSYS.
Richard B. Allsup. Experience in the
petrochemical industry supporting mechanical integrity
and reliability, optimizing equipment performance,
metallurgical evaluation and failure analysis of
process equipment. Root cause analysis of equipment
failures and the design and implementation of
corrective actions. Implementation of inspection
technology. Risk based inspection technology and
software development.
Arun R. Kurlekar has experience as a
Materials/Corrosion Engineer in failure analysis and
material selection (metals, non-metals and coatings);
material, processes and paint specification; mechanical
integrity procedures; corrosion and risk based
analysis; welding procedures and qualifications;
chemical cleaning; and extensive knowledge of ASME,
ANSI, ASTM and AWS standards and codes.
Timothy Malone has experience in
development and management of various programs,
including Piping Mechanical Integrity, Piping Risk
Based Inspection & Analysis, Associated Databases
and Analysis and Ever-green programs. Development of
Inspection Planning/Procedures. Management of
Nondestructive Testing Group. Licensed Piping
Inspector. Liquid Penetrant, Visual and Optical, and
Radiographic Testing Level II.
Alfonso Parra has experience in
vibration monitoring, including measurement, analysis
and correction of rotating equipment. Development and
implementation of gaseous emissions monitoring plans.
Measurement, analysis and correction for engines,
heaters and boilers. Analysis of lube oil tests for
engines, hydraulic systems, and gearboxes. Lead Auditor
for Quality, Safety and Environmental Assurance
Systems.
Ishfaq Zaman has Oil & Gas
industry experience in Integrity, Facilities &
Pipeline disciplines. Pipeline Integrity, GIS and Data
Management. Supervised Cathodic Protection Design.
Analyze survey data and flow modeling analysis.
Conducted pipeline feasibility studies. Performed
system modeling and facilities design. Design of
metering/regulating stations. Ensured regulatory
compliance of pipelines.
Velu Palaniyandi is a Metallurgical Engineer. He holds a B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering and a Masters degree in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science. He has five years of academic research experience in super alloys, catalyst characterization and polymeric composite materials. Mr. Palaniyandi also has three years of industrial experience including materials selection, process development, failure analysis, corrosion analysis, fatigue, reverse engineering, root cause analysis and first article testing of a wide range of materials from pulp and paper, power generation aerospace and automotive industries. Mr. Palaniyandi is proficient in handling analytical equipment like SEM, TEM, XRD and XPS to identify failure modes.
Bill McKeen has a MSc. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and has extensive industry experience. Bill has been a nuclear QA and Construction manager at CBI, a design engineer at S&B Engineering as well as an Engineering Supervisor at Combustion Engineering. Bill will be based in Houston to provide support for Petrochemical projects as well as providing litigation support.
Raiz (Ray) Masrour, P. E. Mr. Masrour holds a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from from Texas Tech University, and a B.S. in Mathematics from Tarleton State University.
Mr. Masrour has more than 30 years experience related to engineering design, project
engineering, and management of gas and liquid pipeline projects, gas gathering and reinjection systems, crude treatment facilities, midstream gas pipeline pump and compressor station facilities, and LNG projects. He has been involved in engineering design of a number of pipeline and related facilities projects, both FEED studies and detailed design work, based on DOT 192 and 195, ASME B31.8, B31.4, B31.3 and API 5L. His project engineering and management activities have included coordination and direction of design teams in Houston and overseas offices, generation of man-hour estimates and work schedules, preparation of project execution documents, status reports, etc. His gas pipeline compressor station facility and LNG experience includes close association with environmental companies for the production of various resource reports related to permitting and regulatory compliance.
